Living with Lupus
I woke up this morning and slowly got out of bed. This was going to be a good day for me. By that, I meant, the pain was not as bad as it was yesterday. And having lived with Lupus for 10 years now, I learned a long time ago to take every day as it comes. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that attacks anything from your skin to your internal organs. There is no cure for it, but the quality of life has approved over the last few years. In my case, it has attacked my lungs and just recently my heart. My life has drastically changed in the last 4 to 5 years. I came out of the workplace, and had to find an alternative. Hence my home business. I have had to rely more and more on my daughters for help around the house, not that they mind, but no one wants to feel like a burden. And through it all, life has become more precious to me. The small things that may not matter to someone else matters to me. I woke up this morning and slowly got out of bed. And that was a blessing. |
